The Challenges of Submitting a Paper to Major International TS Journals

Roberto A. Valdeón

This talk will discuss the main challenges for translation studies researchers wanting to publish their work in international journals. It will provide information about the main publications in the field, will offer an overview of some of the main difficulties (concerning themes, coauthorship, formatting issues, submission procedures, etc). As the editor of Perspectives. Studies in Transaltion Theory and Practice, I will be able to provide examples of some of the main problems that authors encounter and also to make some recommendations that might prove useful during the whole process (from the selection of topics meaningful for international readers to taking care of formatting issues). In the final part, I will encourage the audience to participate and give their own feedback on their experience with national and international journals.
