杜克大学中国研究中心
http://www.dcrc.ssri.duke.edu/about

Established in 2011, the center fosters interdisciplinary, international research and outreach in China studies at Duke University. To better understand the impact of China’s global rise and improve relations between China and the United States, ECRC works in partnership with Chinese institutions. ECRC established its partnership with the Institute of Arts and Humanities, Shanghai Jiao Tong University in an effort to conduct joint research. Co-directors, John Aldrich (Political Science) and Liu Kang (Asian and Middle Eastern Studies), are working to ensure the Emerging China Research Center (ECRC) makes its mark on the research world.

In cooperation with Shanghai Jiao Tong University, the center has conducted a series of survey projects on China’s global images and attitudes towards China: from the U.S. (2010 and 2012), Latin America (2012), and Africa (2012). The center will coordinate joint research projects by the faculty from numerous institutions in a wide range of areas and issues, such as soft power, media, arts and humanities, and bilateral and multilateral relations including China-Africa and China-Middle East.

The center welcomes visiting scholars and research fellows (from China as well as other regions and nations), and will organize lectures, workshops and conferences in collaboration with various Duke and UNC research institutes.
